Wireless Connections
OneCoby - This is the main WIFI network that is available throughout campus This will make it easier for you to connect your devices to the WI-FI network.
Details for what it looks like: You will receive an e-mail form the address “no-reply@extremecloudiq.com” . This message will arrive in your campus, @cobleskill.edu, inbox. DO NOT DELETE THIS MESSAGE. This message will contain your personal key to connect to the new wireless system. The message contents will look like the image below.
OneCobyGuest - This is the Wifi used by people visiting campus. Connection requires that they complete the guest registration login form.
Guest registration - Guest registration is for people visiting the campus and need access to the Internet. This can be found under your wi-fi settings on your device. Once you have completed the guest registration process form you will be given an access code via text to connect to "OneCobyGuest". The message contents will look like the image below.
CobyNet - This network will be deprecated shortly. While it is available it is a network that should only be used for campus owned devices that are placed on our network. Users should switch to using OneCoby
Tigernet - This network will be deprecated shortly. It is available in only a few locations around campus in buildings that equipment has not been replaced from the "2023 Wi-Fi project" In order to connect properly, you will need to log in with your Cobleskill network account user name and password. As equipment is replaced users will need to switch to OneCoby.
Wired Connections - If you are connecting your laptop, television or gaming device via a wired Ethernet connection in the dorm halls you will still need to register the Wired MAC Address of your device, to connect please use the black network jacks labeled Eth2 and Eth3.
Finding the MAC address of your device varies greatly by product so we will simply suggest using a search engine such as Google to learn how to find your device’s MAC address.
Once you have the device MAC address, use another connected device that has an Internet connection to access the web page.
https://extremecontrol.cobleskill.edu/self_registration. Enter your Cobleskill user name and password then click Login, you will then need to read and then check the box to agree with the acceptable use policy then click "Complete Registration"
To add a device first click "Add". Enter the MAC address and a description of the device you would like registered and then click "Submit". Your device is now successfully registered! You can connect to OneCoby using the pre-shared key.
