How to configure the forticlient VPN Client version

Before you begin configuring the VPN keep in mind that the client VPN should only be used for scenarios where you do not have a machine on campus to remote into, if that is the case the cleint VPN should ONLY be used on a campus-issued-state-machine.

NOTE1.0: A ticket should be submitted to the helpdesk to assist with the installation of the VPN client; admin credentials will be needed to download the vpn on campus-issued-state-machines. The ticket will serve as a VPN client request that will be approved or denied based on your use case and other factors.

Installation of the Forticlient VPN:

Note: If the VPN has already been installed you can skip this section and proceed to the "configuring the VPN Client Application"

First download the VPN from the following site:

At the front page you should see "product downloads and free trials", below that section you will see a list of downloads, at the very top should be "forticlient 7.0" in that section select "Forticlient VPN only" and it should take you to another section that has multiple red download buttons. Look for the "Download VPN for Windows" option and select download. (see the image below for reference)
