Moving Course Content to Different Topics

To move course content between different topics, follow the steps below:

NOTE: If your course is in OneTopic format (it has the tabs at the top), then you cannot move items between different topics. This means you will need to change the course format to Topics format, just while you are moving items.

  1. To change course format click "Edit settings" under the Administration block
  2. Scroll down to Course Format, click the drop-down and choose "Topics Format"
  3. Scroll down and click "Save and return to course"
  4. Now your course is laid out with all the topics in order on the page. Click "Turn editing on". Now you should see the move icon to the left of each course item.
  5. Click on the icon and hold down the mouse while you drag the item up or down the page to the place you want it.
  6. When you are done moving items, do back to the Administration block and click "Edit settings". Scroll down to Course Format and choose "OneTopic format" from the drop-down, then scroll down and click "Save and return to course"
