Initial setup:
- Mount projector
- Plug in power, Ethernet, and HDMI
- Turn on projector using the power button (circle with a vertical line coming in from top) on projector body. "NEC Projector" in black text on a yellow background should appear during boot.
- Align the projector body using adjustments in the mount.
- Zoom the lens by sliding the gray bar inside the lens area up and down to properly fill the display area
- Focus the lens turning the black, ridged ring surrounding the lens glass
- Press the Menu button on the projector body or remote
- Navigate to the Display page (top in left bar)
- Change Orientation to match physical setup of projector in relation to display area
- "Front" for mounting on a stand, desk, table, etc in front of screen
- "Ceiling/Front" for mounting upside down in front of screen (relative to audience)
- "Rear" for mounting on a stand, desk, table, etc behind of screen
- "Ceiling/Rear" for mounting upside down behind a screen
- Navigate to the Expand page (fourth from top in left bar)
- Enter Test pattern
- Select "Cross hatch"
- Fine-tune the alignment, zoom, and focus
- Repeat steps 10-11 and select "Off" to return to normal inputs
- Back out (using the left arrow or Exit button) to the Expand page and enter Network setup
- Enter Network setting
- Under Wired LAN, turn DHCP to "Off"
- Set the IP address, Subnet, Gateway, and DNS to values defined ahead of time
- Under Wireless LAN, turn Setting to "On"
- Select and press Enter on the Set button. "Please wait..." should appear as the settings are applied.
- Navigate to the Setting page (third from top in left bar) using the arrow buttons
- Set Standby mode to "Sleep"
- Exit the menu by pressing the "Exit" button until the menu pop-up disappears
If corners need to be adjusted to fit the display area better, access the Keystone adjustment tool by either pressing the Keystone button on the remote or:
- Press the Menu button on the projector body or remote
- Navigate to the Expand page
- Enter Keystone
Follow the Keystone instructions in the PDF user manual starting on page 44 to make adjustments to the image.
