Today marks the second week of Cybersecurity Awareness Month!
This week, we will be discussing Why does password security and MFA matter?
Password Security and multi factor authentication (MFA) are critical to protecting personal use and organizational data from cyber threats. Strong passwords represent the first line of defense but can still be vulnerable to different attacks such as phishing or password leaks from data breaches.
- MFA adds extra protection
- MFA requires an additional verification step (a code sent to your phone).
- Even if a password is stolen, MFA makes if significantly harder for attackers to access your account. This is why MFA is used so heavily on our campus.
- Reduced risk of Cyberattacks
- By combining password security with MFA, you, and our organization has greatly reduced unauthorized access and are actively protecting sensitive data.
- Don't forget password security & MFA with your personal data
- Strong passwords and MFA are vital to safeguard both personal information and business systems
