How to connect to SUNY Cobleskill Browser Mode VPN Services

SUNY Cobleskill SSL VPN Web Mode

This secure web connection allows you to log onto a campus workstation using any browser on any Operating System (OS) platform without installing a VPN client. You simply need to know the name of the campus computer you wish to connect to. Use the link below to start the process.

  1. Once you navigate to the link above, you will click on a red button that says "Single-Sign-on" underneath the button that says "Launch FortiClient"
  2. You will then be redirected to the Cobleskill/Microsoft login page. Enter your Cobleskill email address and password and Confirm MFA when prompted using your preferred MFA method. 
  3. You may get a "This page is not working"  error message but if you simply close the tab and open the website again it should bring you to the home 
  4. Once you are signed in, you should be brought to a page that says "SSL-VPN Portal" at the top with preset bookmarks underneath
  5. Click the + New Bookmark button underneath the existing bookmarks section
  6. Click RDP under the computer icon and provide information for Name and Host
  7. In the Name and Host fields, enter the name of the computer on campus that you would like to connect to.
  8. In the Security field select Allow the server to choose the type of security from the drop-down menu
  9. Click Save to add campus workstation connection to your Web Mode SSL-VPN Portal homepage
  10. You will be brought back to the same page on step 4.
  11. Click the newly created bookmark on the home page, and you will be prompted Enter your SUNY Cobleskill account credentials to connect to the on campus computer via Remote Desktop. You do not need your full email address under username.

To run this your browser desktop in full screen:

  1. Click on your SSL-VPN Portal tab
  2. Press F11 on your keyboard to enter full screen mode
  3. Press Ctrl + Tab on your keyboard to switch to your RDP browser session
  4. To exit full screen mode on your RDP browser session, press F11
